Always greeted with a smile. Warm friendly atmosphere. Good home cooked soul food. The best yams I've found here in Jackson, Ms.. Got to order some for Thanksgiving.
This is THE PLACE to get a plate every day of the week they will smash the value of any fast food meal. Sometimes the line gets long but they work hard to keep the line moving and you can watch and smell the hot pans of food being brought out. They bring variety to the table and this is also a great place to get in some VEGGIES and if you’re like me you’re gonna make sure to get some of that peppery mac & cheese. This place is family run and full of kind hearted individuals. Love ya’ll!!!
The food here is delicious and so are the desserts!! Feels very down home, family environment and everyone was kind and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend this spot for food and service!!
Mama's is kind of a hole-in-the-wall soul food place. Nothing fancy about the decor or vibe. The ribs, chicken (fried, baked, barbequed), pork chops are always pretty good. The sides - lima beans, peas, greens, corn, candied sweet potatoes- are okay. This is a mom-n-pop, family-run business. They are always polite and professional. Service is relatively fast, depending on the crowd lined up at the counter. I would recommend Mama's for your lunch or dinner.
You definitely get your money worth at Mama's. The food was absolutely delicious! Good variety of meats and vegetables. Very well seasoned. Fast and friendly service. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
The crew and I were working near the restaurant, Gained 8 lbs just smelling it. Decided to go in, DELICIOUS!! I tried the pasta with chicken, had a great kick to it. Corn bread delicious. Ambiance is relaxed, very welcoming folks. Definitely a hidden gem.
Found this place while visiting the Trace. So glad we jumped off to eat. Just an unassuming spot but the cars in the lot said it was popular. The food was EXCELLENT. Best home cooking I’ve had in a while. The fried chicken was delish and the sweet potatoes amazing! Didn’t love the cornbread but that was a minor complaint compared to everything else. There was a line but so worth the wait. If we lived around here, I’d be a regular. The people were super friendly too.
